The jewel of Noval Scotia Wineries. Located along Nova Scotia 's Evangeline Trail in the beautiful Annapolis Valley , an area famous for its cultural diversity, charm and natural beauty, not to mention its natural wonders.  Located at the headwaters of the Bay of Fundy 's Minas Basin , this is where the world famous tides rise up to 54 feet. The area is also rich in history.

The winery began back in 1969   It was purchased in 1994 by Hanspeter Stutz.
The winery remained closed for six years for reconstruction from buildings to vineyards.
New vines were planted including Maréchal Foch , Léon Millot , New York Muscat and L'Acadie Blanc .  There are 70 acreas of Vineyards although currently only 30 are planted producing 6000
cases of wine.



The estate is beautifully designed for a relaxing and enjoyable visit. It took Hanspeter Stutz and his son Juerg Stutz   more than seven years to restore the winery and uncork the first bottle of wine, but since then Domaine de Grand Pre has won numerous national and international awards for its wines as well as the 2005 Tourism 1st Vision Award, the Crystal Tourism Award of Excellence for Tourism Services 2002 and the Eastern Kings Chamber of Commerce's Outstanding Business of the Year 2004 Award.

 

 

Along with the beautiful vineyards, Domaine de Grand Pré offers an unforgettable experience thanks to Hanspeter''s unique vision and attention to detail. Whether you come for a short visit, a romantic dinner, or a special celebration with family and friends, Domaine de Grand Pré is the perfect setting. The pergola seats up to 80 guests creating a picturesque outdoor setting for wedding receptions and other celebrations.

Chef Alex and his team inject a Swiss twist into traditional Nova Scotian fare to produce dishes that are seasonal, original and enticing. Local Seafood, Delicious Desserts, Swiss Nights with Swiss Cheese Fondue and Raclette, Venison, Grapevine-covered Patio   

The future looks bright for winery winemaker Juerg Stutz refects The fabulous products that come from the characteristic climate of Nova Scotia are to many wine lovers outside the province and outside the country still undiscovered. But with all the efforts this little wine industry puts into their products, combined with the charming Maritime flair, Nova Scotia will become a well known and respected wine area

Nova Scotia is also know for the Apple Orchards of Its Annapolis Valley.Domaine de Grand Pré also produces Stutz Hard Apple Cider .

 

At 4.5% alcohol, Stutz Hard Apple Cider is a far cry from heavier, ‘hardcore' cider products that often overpower the bright natural flavour of the apple.
