Canadian Wines - Classic

Experience the wines and wineries of our corner of the world. Wine has been produced in Canada since the 1800's, but only recently has it begun to challenge the rest of the world. There were less than 40 wineries when I tasted my first bottle of Canadian wine, today there are over 500 wineries. Many of which have established their reputation and established Canada world wide as a wine producing nation, one that can truly challenge the old world wines, not just for her icewines but for all varieties. Taking fruit wines into account you can find a winery in every province.

Inniskillin Wines has received the Top Producer Prize at the 16th Annual Sélections Mondiales des Vins Canada. Due to its reputation for quality, many consider this international wine competition to be the most important in North America. Inniskillin was named Top Producer because its wines had the highest average score out of all 600 wineries that competed.

Le Clos Jordanne's 2005 Claystone Terrace rocked the wine world in what is being dubbed, "The Judgment of Montreal World's best Chardonnay. Why is this an upset! Why is this a surprise! This website has been singing the praises of Canada's wines for 17 years now.
